The Civil War (2021)

The Civil war was the longest conflict in the Council's history, lasting for several months during the year of 2021. On April 19th 2021, the war began on the group's discord server with the members splitting into two factions: the Interplanetary Defense Force (IDF) and NATO. The second part of the Civil War began on June 8th 2021 when NATO later split into the ISX and Decimation Inc. following HoesForToes' withdrawal from NATO. The Civil War officially ended just a few days before 2022 (December 30th) following the Second Exile of Zagger.

Background

While the Discord server had seen several conflicts since its foundation in May 2020, no conflict had as wise the scope and length of the Civil War. The Council Civil War introduced official factions into the server for the first time.

In the morning of April 19th 2021, RomanG and Boulau participated in various antics against HoesforToes - both of them declared themselves to be the true "John B" and changed their usernames and icons. Lo and Zagger observed these antics. HoesforToes threatened to kick and ban everyone. Soon enough, HoesforToes declared war at 11:14:14AM that day.

War

HoesforToes' declaration of war resulted in the immeadiate formation of sides in the server. Lo and RomanG allied under the banner of the Interplanetary Defense Force (IDF). Zagger, who originally planned on joining the IDF, decided to join HoesforToes' side to rival Lo. HoesforToes' faction would soon be called NATO. Later on, Boulau joined NATO while Xced joined the IDF.

In the first hours of the war, the server name was changed to "Le Conseil Divisé", #general was turned into #battlefield-general, the server icon changed and several secret channels for the IDF and NATO we're created across the server. IDF members Lo and RomanG we're kicked out of Zagger's secondary Conseil server.

During the beggining of the war, two battles occured on Shell Shockers. The first battle was considered a stalemate while the second was deemed an IDF victory. RomanG led several gif raids against NATO channels in the Discord server and eventually occupied them. NATO counter-offences included the development of an espionage bot (Anonymous) and the creation of several alt accounts that resembled RomanG. Lo and RomanG of the IDF preceded to kick HoesforToes and his alts out of Le Conseil du Kiwi server (a secondary server). This server was turned into the official server of the IDF.

The factions made a brief appearance on Le Conseil's Guilded but very minimal action occurred on that server. In Le Conseil's hangout chats, Boulau led the NATO offensive as IDF and NATO members constantly changed the names of the the group's Hangout channel. On HoesforToes' birthday, he gained the highest role @birthday boi and he committed a quasi-coup of the server.

On June 8th 2021, HoesforToes announced he would be leaving NATO to form the Independent Security Exchange (ISX) because of a lack of activity from fellow NATO members. June 8th 2021 marked the begging of the second stage of the Civil War as the IDF launched plans to take back control of the server. The IDF efforts we're briefly successful as RomanG gained the top role for a short period of time before losing it. In response, the IDF launched the ESDS for the first time (to an extent). The ESDS removed several bots from the server and kicked all of HoesforToes' alts. HoesforToes was almost kicked out of the server until he managed to ban Lo from the server briefly. After learning of the formation of the ISX by HoesforToes, Zagger decided to put an end to NATO and turned it into Decimation Incorporated. Xced's allegiance was transferred from the IDF to Decimation on that day.

Following the events of June 8th, the Civil War became less intense with fighting largely limited to small skirmishes over permissions. To reflect this increasing stability, on August 12th 2021, Lo changed the name of the server from "Le Conseil Divisé" to "United Factions of Le Conseil". All fighting largely ceased until November 2021. On November 24th, Zagger was requested to go to court in #pamplemousse-debates over various accusations and charges. On November 25th 2021, he was deemed guilty of 5 different offences. In response to this, the IDF started an occupation of Decimation Incorporated that lasted till December 6th.

On December 28th, Zagger started his second exile from the server and requested that Decimation Incorporated be dissolved. This caused discussions between HoesforToes of the ISX and Lo and RomanG of the IDF concerning the future of the factions. HoesforToes agreed to dissolve the ISX. On December 30th 2021, the ISX and IDF we're dissolved ending the second stage of the Civil War.

Post Faction Era

The early stages of the Civil War have been considered among the most active periods of time for Le Conseil's Discord server. The factions introduced by the Civil War have continued to have an influence on the evolution of the server. The Conseil Protection Force (CPF) took considerable inspiration from the IDF and nostalgia for the Civil War was a considerable factor in the rise of the Second Faction Era. In April 2022, both the IDF and Decimation returned to activity with the start of the Second Faction Era.
